Preparing for Your Voices in Time Session

Recording Session Preparations

Once you have scheduled your recording session, take a little time to prepare. After submitting the Agreement Contract, we will send you extensive information to help you prepare yourself and your environment for your recording session.

SCHEDULING

Generally, we find that we are able to capture your story in approximately one hour. We suggest that you reserve two hours for your session. If you would prefer to schedule a longer block of time, please let us know. Consider a series of recording sessions to allow time to reflect in between.

FACILITATOR

Your Facilitator will work with the guest or family members prior to the recording to help you prepare for your session. Your Facilitator will guide you through the recording session, leading you through the conversation with helpful prompts and questions. Your Facilitator is there to help you feel at ease, in fact, once the recording session gets started, you will be surprised by how quickly the memories start to flow!

QUESTIONS

We provide a question booklet with a wide variety of topics to consider, and space to add your own customized questions.

SHOULD WE DISCUSS TOPICS AND QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE?

Some guests prefer the spontaneity of a fresh, unrehearsed conversation, while others appreciate some time to reflect in advance.

RELAX AND ENJOY

The goal is not a scripted recitation of your life. Ease into the kind of conversation you might have on a long car trip or a leisurely stroll.

CHAPTERS

We encourage you to pick one or two time periods of your loved one’s life. We find that it is better to break down the big picture into smaller moments.
